I think (and it's just my opinion since there is no real definition) RICE is simply something added to a car that is tasteless or gawdy and usually to give the appearance of being a faster car than it actually is by utilizing unneccessary (functional or not) pieces...

Disagree there. If it IS funtional, it is okay with me. None of those huge Pep Boys tin wings that you see on Civics are. But the big wings on a Supra are.

Either way, I want one of these spliters!

A functional spoiler doesn't stop functioning just because it got put on a "lesser" car...

Sure it can, if the car can't obtain the speeds that the other car can in a certain situation.

Also, as I'm sure you know, a wing has to be MADE to function. You can't just go to Pep Boys and toss on a wing and expect downforce at the track. IMO it needs to be desinged to work with the car.

saving the front bumper of my car is a good enough reason alone, I like the looks of it too so it would be just another benefit

I would definitely get one of these. I have looked for them everywhere and now somebody actually wants to make one. I was going to get a Mach 1 Mustang and I loved the front lip/splitter on it. I think if one is made for the 98-02 Camaros/Firebirds then they need to be shaped and stick out like the ones on the Mach 1. Regardless of aero purposes or performance purposes, I would get one because I like the way it looks especially if it stuck past the front bumper an inch. Also, it would save my bumper from dragging because I'm lowered. Whoever is making them let us know. I will buy one as soon as they are made.

2004 Mustang Mach 1, google it to see the front lip.

So what's the deal? The consensus is they look good and we all want to buy them (myself included) if not for aesthetics or function at least for saving money on paint... Are these getting made or not?

Selfish question: If they do get made, can I get a deal if I buy one for my car AND a GTO?
