Anyone heard of this Dent Remover tool?
I saw an infomercial last night about a Dent Remover. The tool has three suction cups in a straight line. Two of the suction cups go around the dent and the 3rd suction cup goes direction over the dent. Using a bolt that's attached to the middle suction cup, you remove the dent......or at least that's how it's supposed to work. Anyone ever heard/tried this?

Heard of it, never actually seen it done tho. If i need a dent fixed, ive got a connection i call up, and its easy as that.
Sounds like an easy concept, but how well it works...id be skeptical.

They had a study on this thing on the ABC News a couple months back.
The conclusion was that yes, it works to some extent, but it's not without flaw.
What happens is it usually takes repeated attempts to remove a ding, and by using the device, it often distorts the rest of the body panel in question by applying uneven pressure to various points of it.
So in a nut shell... An F-Body shouldn't ever come anywhere near one of those things.

you mean the "Ding King"? a local news station in the bay area looked into this thing a while back, and it kinda lessens the dent, but the real flaw in it is the adhesive you use to get it on the car. it seemed like they spent the most time cleaning that off than barely pulling out a dent.
all in all, save your money and go to a body shop.

I'd suggest staying away from all of those do-it-yourself dent removal kits which includes Billy Mays and his latest one. Have a paint/body expert do it.

I acrtually tried the Ding King. Did not REMOVE the dent, but definitely lessened it. Doesn't do jack on small dents though. Also, the damn adhesive removing compunds strips off all the wax. Doesn't feel glossy. I had to clean, polsih, wax like 5 times in that order to get it back to how it used to be.
The dent on mine was from a softball hitting it.
Bottom line: If it is a small dent that is mostly circular and doesn't have creases, it is good for visibly reducing the ding. However, since you own the car and know where the dent was, you will still be able to faintly see it. Others will most likely not notice. If the dent is bigger than a grapefruit, forget it. Call a body shop.

My dent-removal guy said that the Ding King stuff won't do very much. I watched him work for four hours on my truck and you would clearly need more force than just suction to remove some dings.
Dent removal runs about $50-100 per body panel, maybe try to organize a local GP day.
