Default Polished the wifes WS6 center panel today

Finally got around to evening out the Borla pipes, wetsanding and polishing the tail lights and the center panel. No pics of the pipes but this is what I did with the center panel.

First pic, left is what the whole thing looked like. Right was after a little 2000 grit hand wetsanding

This is it sanded and hit with Meguiers PlastX

And finally installed with the new bird and Trans Am decals

Im no pro but this was the first attempt at something like this. The wife was happy so I guess I am too being that its her car and all

Mine needs this done. When it gets warmer out, I am gonna spend a full weekend on the car- wash, clay bar, polish, wax....and I will tackle that center piece.

Looks good

Nice work, but I would have left the decal off. Just my opinion though.

Looks good. Why did you put the 3rd gen firebird on there tho instead of a 4th gen version?

She liked the 3rd better. Plus, I dont think Ive ever seen a 4th on a 4th gen unless it was installed by the owner. I often wondered why I saw that bird on all TAs myself, and from the old residue left, a 3rd was also on there from the factory so we went with it.

ws6store and afterthoughtsauto both have them.

did you use a small buffer to polish it? I did the same exact thing a month ago and mine didn't look anywhere like yours. i went from 500 - 1000 - 2000 and then hit it w/ the plastix polisher, but by hand. good work though!

Nice work...cheaper than spending $110 on a new GM one like I did. Oh well.

Looks like I've got something to do tomorrow. Did you just wetsand it then polish or was there a little more to it?

Yeah just wetsand it a bunch. Then polish it. I probably did it wrong though. Because I would polish it, then wetsand it and polish it until I was happy with the results. I dunno. If I ever do it again, Ill just wetsand the ***** outta it then try one polishing
