Default Switch Mounts?

Hey guys,

I was hoping to get some new ideas for where to mount a bunch of switches I have for my car now.

I want something besides where the TPS switch is and the ash tray (6 spd)

Lets see some pictures

I always thought itd be REALLY cool to have something more cockpit like. maybe like an overhead piece between the t-tops with the flip switches with covers

I have a really good picture on my other computer. I believe it's an LT1 T/A with a switch panel in the place of the radio. It looked amazing.

This is another well done setup; it's subtle, but looks awesome IMHO - by SSOBAD

Yeah I wanted to do that, but my cage doesn't have a halo bar to mount anything to.

The TPS and ashtray locations are nice, but I have so many damned switches, they wont fit in both places combined lol.

Don't want to put it in the center consol either because I don't want to flip it open when I'm at the track

If you were willing to take your HVAC out you could probably fit about 10 switches in there...

If you take off the radio and temp control bezel, you can remove the camaro emblem that is next to your fog light and asr switches and you will see that there are two places from the factory that you can mount other factory switches in; hope this helps.

looks sweet.

I'd love to put them where the HVAC is, but I still want to have heat, a/c etc....

^^^^look for the thread on relocating your HVAC controls. put them in the back by your spare tire, that way you wont be temped to turn the ac on and burn the extra gas. lol.

I'm in the same boat as you, lots of nitrous switches amount other things. I am currently working on modifying my center console. i cut out the cup holder and ash tray. used some epoxy, multiple layers of thin plastic sheets and bondo to fill in and smooth out. im going to lightly pad it and wrap the entire thing in leather so i dont care too much with how smoothed out and nice the filler looks. after that i am putting 6 cockpit style toggle switches in. should be done in about two weeks, ill post up pictures.

here's a very preliminary picture. before any sanding or anything. as i said, it wont really matter if its perfectly smoothed out because im just going to pad it and wrap it in Specialized Stainless Leather kit. i might even mount the switches on top of a brushed piece of stainless steel

i was planning on doing the cockpit idea but instead of using the cage im gunna make something for my headliner and mold it in and then recover the headliner with the new interior color. or take out the radio and put a bunch there. im undecided.
