Yeah that's what I said.

These things are advertised at 25lbs (bolt on) and mine weighed 32lbs. Not sure why VFN has most of their hoods marked under scale

I know the sunoco isn't the only one.

it doesnt bolt on to the stock hood hinge. you have to install studs that come through the hood and allow a pin to go trhough the stud to hold the hood on. you quite literally lift the hood of the car

oh ya, i had when i was 16 i had a nice hardwood 2.5 cowl on my 3rd gen. firebird. got busy threw the hood on, had to run inside. came later and totally forgot, got up to 35 WHOOOOSH thing just flew right off. I saw in the review mirror, looked like a god damn frisbee gently landing on my neighbors yard.

I weighed my sunoco at 30lbs. It's unpainted still. I decided to go with a pin-on if anybody wants this bolt-on one without the wait from VFN. Asking what I paid. It's located in Southern Oregon. The fit is PERFECT. Decided to make the car primarily strip so I'm cutting weight everywhere I can.

thanks for the info.

I was not saying weight is an issue...its awkward cause of its size. I'm 6'4" and I would be more concerned with chiping the paint and damaging the hood over a 5 lbs weight savings at best.
