I've been thinking about turning the red TB and MAF silver some time. They're both ported and polished if anyone's interested. I'll sell 'em if anyone is interested and powdercoat another set silver'ish.

First off, excellent start to keeping a nice clean engine bay. Very awesome looking.

Now, for what to improve on...

- Get some fuel rail covers. Cleans up the engine bay A LOT. And not some "Corvette" used covers, something that says "LS1" or "Trans Am" on them. Don't know the site they're on, but I have 'em, so they make 'em. Try using for them.

- Paint the "SLP" on the air box lid or chang up to the red "LS1" lid offered. It goes better with the red/black theme you have going (I had the same thing, then changed mine and don't regret doing so - trust me, you'll definitely see a difference when you do it). For the "LS1" lid, again you'll have to it since I don't remember the company that sells 'em.

- I can't really tell if you have it or not from the angle of the pics, but for dress-up, get a black anodized head plate and paint over the outline of the phoenix or "LS1" with red touch up paint. Again, really stands out and draws attention to the dress-up of the engine.

Engine is clean, but I'm not feeling the red and blue. It doesn't seem to flow.

I think it either needs more red or less. For more red picture it with the intake and coils red, and the valve covers and fuel rails polished. As it sits the red looks a bit random.

And add some crown moldings and travertine tile.

nope no crown get some formica

agreed you do need something to pull the red together maybe some red billiet caps (oil cap, washerfluid cap, etc....) that could help distribute the red more evenly and would be more subtle than trying to find something else big to make red, or just a thought maybe the intake manifold in red and the air intake painted nbm with a red bowtie on the lid?? just trying to help but of course i am biased i like red accents

It looks clean, but truthfully, these are really boring looking engines. No matter what you do, it's really hard to get that cool factor under the hood. The coolest thing is just the fact that a LS1 lives there, IMO nothing else needs to be done.

I like the old TPI L98's, those were/are cool looking engines.

And I hate to say it, but the engine bay of my boss's stock Shelby GT looks pretty cool. That 4.6 just looks huge in there, even though it's only a 4.6.
