I weighed my seats before and after I converted to leather. No weight difference... The covers I made are of super plush 4 ounce leather with 1/4 memory foam behind it. I love my camaro seats now.
I remolded a bit of the foam and built up the factory "bucket" seats. The leather also came from a show steer I raised, then slaughtered and sent the skin to Weaver and got my leather. The Initials RM were branded into him about 6 months before I sent it in, and brand didn't turn out super good cause we didn't go deep enough. I wanted to see what the brand would look like on the hide after. The wierd wrinkle in the passenger seat head rest is actually a spot close to his armpit that wouldn't smooth out all the way. I did my door panels and wrapped my new gear shifter in some of his hide. just rambling.

Yeah, the gf wouldn't ride in it for about a month. She saw the actual hide come out of the box in the shape of old Benicio Del Torrez and she freaked. She loved that damn steer.
Has that new cow smell.

Hey guys, I am the guy who trial fit the GTO seat in my Camaro. I must say that I was very impressed with how well it fit and it really looked like it belonged there.
The GTO seats will take some fabrication and creativity to mount, but it should not be too bad. These seats are so incredibly comfortable, but I do agree with the guy who mentioned the weight, these suckers are heavy!!!! I have seen in previous posts that they weigh around 70lbs. and after picking them up, I believe it.
The GTO power connector for the seat has 3 wires and the Camaro has only two (power and ground presumably). Does anyone know what the third wire is in the GTO?
I still may put these suckers in my Camaro in the future. I had a set from a 2006 lined up for less than $500 but the timing was wrong and I had to let them go, errrrrr.
