Default T-Top Tint

This may sound kind of dumb, but can you tint T-Tops? I was informed by someone that you cant do it because the glass is tempered and will trap heat and shatter your T-Top. Is there any truth in this? I have been looking around a little and I cant seem to find anyone with tinted T-Tops either...

are you kidding me? trap enough heat to shatter a T-top? tempered glass is stronger than regular glass. tint away

edit: i dont think you can tint acrylic glass. but cars dont have acrylic glass

I would imagine having the sun shades on would trap heat in more than tint. Correct me if I'm wrong but all the windows on a car are tempered no.

Well I tinted all my windows 5% and it looked kinda goofy with the t-tops untinted, and the car didnt come with shades.

It did seem kinda weird to me when I heard it though. I didnt understand how that would make them un-tintable. Thanks for the help though!

YES you can tint t-tops. I've got mine tinted at 5% too, just because the sunlight was beaming in from the top and not the sides anymore after I got the sides tinted.

Do it.

I was also told not to tint the tops because of heat getting trapped. Ask two different people and you will get two different answers. You could try using a mesh type tint.

You could also crack your window just a bit. Heat rises, so when it sees those little openings it should filter up and out.
