Nice project!! I third gens looks nice and brutal! Event though i like the 3gen dash better than the early 4th gen. Good luck with the LS1 conversion!

i just read some good things about the 5.3 you should check out carcraft they talk about how the ls1 and the 5.3 are very similar biggest differnce 5.3 is an iron block and ls1 aluminum, they made i think it was 100 horsepower with a cam and ported the stock heads.

edit: that is a great project and its looking very good.

Thanks for the input guys! Im so excited to get more work done on this thing. Im in florida this week, which means cheaper shipping, so ive spent about $500 ordering parts to arrive to me when im here.

We stopped at summit in atlanta on the way down here last night. Bought a few parts:

Week after im home ive gotta clean the shop because my dad isnt quite happy with my cleanliness standards. Then ill be bringing the t/a in to start pulling parts (Tank & Rear diff). Ive gotta work out fuel stuff, then get the motor fully mounted, with an exhaust system. Lastly wiring. Which is the scary part at the moment. Definately not looking forward to doing wiring Thank god my dad has a degree in electrical engineering, so he can help me out on that note.

Thanks again for the kind words guys! Im pretty excited to have my first car as an Iroc-Z, now ill have my first car still with all of the comfort of an LS1 car in my thirdgen

Very nice project you've got going. Make sure you get some LS1 style headers for the third gen to make it sound nicer yet if you don't have them already. Then you will really scare your 4banger friends. Also you may want to work over your suspension to handle all the newfound power correctly. Good luck and keep us updated.

what would be killer is to get some 17" or 18" Iroc Replica rims all the way around that would look badass. Nice upgrades man~Cole~
