Question Katzkins Interior?

Guys/Gals,

I am considering upgrading my leather interior to a new custom color interior from Katzkins. Does anyone have any experience with them, their quality and also, any reccs for a good installer/interior shop in the Houston area? Here is a link to their website and a screen shot of my possible seat combo.

FYI - My T/A is red and where you see the black katzkins logo on the seat, I will have the screeming chicken firebird logo stiched. Let me know what you think?

I've been thinking of doing the Katzkins too. Hopefully you get some great feedback on this.

Ok, guys have an update for you. Talked with Katzkins and it looks like they discontinued the 93-97 T/A due to different seat configs in each car and confusion among the consumers. The refered me to leatherseats.com and they are pretty pricy - $900 to get what I wanted from Katzkins for $600-700 and that's with out install. Anyone have a good place they recc to get some replacement seat covers for my car and where I can customize them - color and logo stiched? Also, what should I be looking at for price?

I might just be too optomistic here!!!

Interesting. I have them and they are very nice. I got in on a gp a while ago and paid I believe $450-500 for them. Very great product and very easy install. If you know how to use a screwdriver and a ratchet you can do this yourself.

Katzkin has been very good quality in my experience. Our suppliers use them and all of the vehicles turn out great.

I had to order mine from autoleathers which I believe is the same as Katzkins. Katzkins only sold to dealers back then. Good stuff.

Not too happy, as I called autoleathers and they say that my year has been discontinued. I'm really looking to spend around 700-800 and would like the following:

2 tone leather (light grey outside and red leather center full section)
Red Piping or stiching along the edges
Screaming Chicken (firebird) logo stiched on the front buckets on the top
All seats covered (2 front buckets and rear buckets/bench back)
Matching door panel inserts

Anyone have any suggestions or should I start researching local shops for the job. If I have to go local anyone have a good shop they recc in the Houston/South TX area to start and what should I expect to pay?

Yup, that's what their kit says. Call 866-75-SEATS and speak with them as you should still be good with your year car. FYI - Autoleather.com is the consumer side and Katzkins.com is the retailer/supplier side. Don't waste your time calling Katzkins directly just speak with that number above as they are structured to sell directly to consumers. Good luck.

I would stay away from Katzkin. I'm going to be redoing my interior and have been talking with a good number of professional automotive upholsterers. The general consensus is that they dont fit right, are poorly made and are just off the shelf regular vinyl that wont hold up for a long time. Not sure why some here say they are good. There was one man I saw that has his own shop and has recently had a good number of people walk in with the Katzkin covers that they bought and were so disappointed with them. I dont know first hand but just passing this info along. I would get an upholstery shop to make you covers as you really be happy with it in the end and can have more customization also.

the problem with an upholstery shop is you are looking at 2000-2500 to do a full interior like he is looking for
