Yet another whole interior upgrade...
I've been working on this for four days straight now so i'm taking a break from it and sharing with the group...
I too am doing a major interior overhaul to try to bring the upscale feel to the good 'ole WS6. Included in the project is wrapping all plastics and rubber in high-grade vinyl (of course), new seat covers, Redline boots, aluminum-look accents, LED lighting, and lastly a new sound system.
Phase one is wrapping all the plastics and painting the aluminum-look accents, then installing the Redline boots. I'm going with a two-tone scheme - Graphite leather (just a shade darker than charcoal, matches the dash perfectly), with Torch Red leather inserts and aluminum-look accents. All stitches will be torch red thread.
I checked out alot of expensive interiors to get a feel for what makes them look and feel so great, and i've tried to put those elements into my work as much as possible. First, of course, hard plastic must go away...second, something has to be done about the five-different-shades-of-grey that GM refers to as "Charcoal". Take a look at a charcoal WS6 door panel...there are literally three different colors on it. So to accomplish a thorough color match, i'm going a bit farther than most and wrapping just about everything in the color-matched vinyl.
Glove box and driver's side dash bottom panel in torch red.
Passenger door insert in torch red.
Another element I took from my recon...double french seams on the armrests.
Aluminum look accent pieces.
There is of course a ton more to be done, so i'll keep the pics coming. I have a few more pieces to do in silver, then of course the outer door panels and some more creative seam work, which is very very time-consuming but also very worth it.

Looks great I love the stitching on the armrest. And also how did you get the aluminum look on the accent pieces. I can't wait to see finished pictures of everything in the car.

I don't look at this board much since LS1tech is too popular for me to keep up with. But I'm really glad I checked just now and saw this topic.
You're doing a great job, and I can't wait to see the end result.
