Has anyone ever tried painting the Door panels, Rear Panels,Center consol & Entire Dash? I have Grey interior and i hate the way it looks would love to Switch over to Black or paint it but not to sure how it would come out, Would love to see what automotive paint (aka: the exterior of the car)..... Looks like. I know someone with a body shop who could prob do the work but dont want my car to look like Rice.

Your right, it will do all that stuff if it is not done right, but who would not do it right the first time?!?!? It is not extreamly hard to prep either, actually quite easy, just takes time. Filler primer, wet sand, filler primer again, wet sand again. Base coat, clear coat, wet sand again then buff out, just like painting a car. My interior pieces are painted and I love it, you just have to be easy not to go overboard and paint to much/to many of them or it will look tacky. I have pictures pewternhra, PM me if you want to see them.--Tony

Just because you would do it right the first time, doesn't mean that everyone is as good as you. Wet sanding and painting require a fair amount of skill, especially on plastic. For those not skilled in that area, they potentially could ruin their interior.

That said, PewterNHRA hasn't posted on the board since the beginning of May. Did you notice that he posted this thread back in 2003? I'm sure he's made his decision by now. The thread was revived by someone asking another question about painting the interior.

I think the stock interior is very plain. No one seems to mind the interior of a Z06 and that has a lot of red to it. Maybe cause its stock. I think it would look good as long as its not over done

To bad there is not a kiss my *** smiley...... . Nobody has to be as good as me, just why would you half *** something that is going into your car? Just because he started this thread back in 03' does not mean I cannot post in it stating how mine was done, and it came out right with no problems. The guy that brought this thread back up might be interested in how some people have done it.--Tony

I had some pieces sanded smooth, prepped and painted at a body shop with base/clear. My interior is graphite and I had the pieces done in the same graphite color. Even though its the same color, it looks good because its glossy and smooth. Some loud color would have looked ridiculous.

if you have a nice color theme going on exterior then you can do some subtle stuff inside, dont go overboard and paint everything, vents, radio bezel, door handles etc would look good without going extreme.
