you have to do A LOT of prep for the vht or it will crack/peel and look like ***, i just ended up getting the blackouts from summit racing, looks 100x better than tint.

not sure on firebirds/transams/formulas but blackouts will cause the lights to get a dimple cus of the heat

this is mine. http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/6...ture015xp9.jpg

we are taking my friends tails from his silver ws6 soon to do the same. see how those come out.

I have had covers on both my birds, my 02 had them on for 2 years in the LA heat with no dimpling, i think what you are talking about is the camaro black outs, it has been known to happen with them.

Here is a shot of my VHT'ed tails.

http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/1336/vhttailsre4.jpg

Sorry for the quality, it was a camera phone picture on an overcast day.
They can look pretty dark without light falling on them, but when the sun hits them they actually don't looked darkened that much.

I used about 3/4 of a can of VHT on the two lights. I think about 6 coats and then 6 coats of clear. They have slight orange peel so as soon as I find a reasonable DS replacement for mine (it has a crack), I will redo them.

Huh. That's an idea. Will Lamin-X contour to our bowed tail lights?

I've done mine with VHT Night Shade this week , but i had black out on my car for years. I like the VHT much better, my self.
They look real black but there not as dark as the black outs, The light shine threw much brighter. Day and night
