Default Chrome Vent Rings

Just put these in last night. The vents were a PIA to remove and I ended up breaking two of them, but a little epoxy fixed them up. I've never seen plastic so brittle. At least they now match my iPhone

They look good, not feeling the carpet on the dash though.

He's in Spain and I usually got a response within 36 hours, so don't sweat it yet.

It didn't take me too long to put in, but it was a pain to remove the vents without damaging them. One pretty much disintegrated on me (broke in 3 places) when I pulled it out. Another came out with a chip. And on another, the fins disintegrated on me so I had to glue them all into position. I don't know if it's because the car is 10 years old, but the plastic is extremely brittle. I dremeled the vents where indicated in the instructions and filed flat then epoxied the rings into place. That part was no big deal. Reinstalling required pulling the actual rotating parts out and thats when the fins blew apart on one of them. The other ones came out ok.

They look great, but you need to be really careful with the install. The rings themselves are a heavy chromed metal, but I think chromed plastic would have worked well or better.

since you broke a couple getting them out...did you learn anything that might help the rest of us? I have a set of rings on the way so any tips for getting the vents out would be apprecaited. I bought a set of extra vents on Ebay "just in case", so my main thing is protecting the dash itself and not screwing something up there.

just use a small and flat knife,---there is a lip you have to lift ,once lifted with the knife you can easely pull them off, I guess QCON did not see these lips and forced the vents too much.
There is realy nothing to the install, but you have to look on how these vents are put into the dash ,and do not rush things ,it is not a 2 minuts job.Generaly the install takes about 1/2 hour.
