I believe the last time we have been at 8 weeks was a few years ago, currently we have been at 5-6 weeks production for at least a year now. 
We don't "hold" anyones order for weeks prior to shipping - we put a lot of time and work into each product we provide for each customer, this is why many customers receive a product they are very happy with.
To make a hood in a week or two would involve pushing another customers order behind (who has waited the normal production time and put a deposit on the order)...this would not be fair to any of our customers and we do not operate this way.
One of the reasons we offer group purchases is to cater to our loyal members on this board. Group purchases have been done several times over the last year or two and these always cut down the time frame on orders, as we try our best to push these orders ahead of everyone else. Generally these are a 2-4 week production - depending on where in "line" your order is....but that is a better wait then 5-6 weeks.

As far as a purchase how does that work? like me and a friends or two that wants a sunoco hood would order all at once???
I was wondering if you were the only company that made them I was going to buy one from you anyways. (when i get the $$$
)also if you look back at the black camaro I posted a pic up of is that a taller sunoco hood??

I can't give too many details about the new hood we'll be announcing - but I would recommend keeping an eye out for it, as you maybe interested if you like the appearance of that hood.

What is the price on a smooth cowl bolt on sunoco hood regular retail purchase and group purchase? How much shorter time frame does the group purchase provide?
