Maybe a whistler mod as well?

Does anyone have issues with the hood struts "popping out" the hood when its shut? I just go my car back from being painted and u can see where the hood strut is pushing on the hood.
I'm not very happy with how thin and flimsy this hood is.
I know this hood is suppose to be lightweight, but they should have reinforced this "problem" area a bit more so that it wouldn't flex and push the hood out.
I'm calling VFN tomorrow.

From what I heard they did reinforce the hood strut area. I just installed my Sunoco and only have 1 hood strut connected. When I connected both I was scared to close the hood because I didn't want to break it. Also, the top of the hood is very flimsy but that is not what is connected to the struts, the bottom of the hood seems to have a lot of reinforcement.

These extended ones, they can't be bolt on can they? I really like the cowl hoods with the curved edge towards the windshield. I have to get a hood I'm trying to decide on what to get. I'd like to get the 4" vfn hood or glasstek. But I may get the sunoco hood. I really want the curve towards the windshield but I don't want to spend a huge amount of money on it. Hopefully I can find a used one.

Get yourself a couple of these hood struts.

They are the exact size but reduced force. They work great with my Sunoco hood.

If you want one for Xmas I hope you already ordered it...they usually have a 6 week wait to produce a hood...I know I have tried to purchase one on two different occasions and that was what I was told..I was too impatient to wait for 6 weeks ... I went with another vendors hood and I had it in 5 days ... that is the reason that I am not using a VFN hood......

My Sunoco is hard as hell to close, well not really. lol It is a lot more difficult than the stocker. I might try to disconnect the other strut.
