Default Brand New Paint Job

How much would one run? Not removing everything, but changing the color?

I know there isn't a set price but what could one expect to pay?

Around $3K. You would need to remove everything if you plan on changing the color though.

yeah everyone's told me that you have to remove everything for a top quality color change paint job. My local body shop quoted me like $6000 for color change with removing everything except the engine.

An easy $4k. You want a good job; so you got to pay for one. Any color choices in mind?

I paid 4k for mine, but they did the underside of the hood, under the rear hatch, aligned my front end conversion, painted the ceta, mirrors and sail panel black.

I haven't seen prices like these anywhere around here. From what I have seen, if you want an excellent paint job, it will cost you $10,000.
If you want it to fade or peel after 2 years, then $5-6000. Where do you guys live where things are this cheap. I'm in SC where you would think things would be cheap, since we are all uneducated (or so the statistics say).

I got my spoiler repainted for $200 at a place that was highly recommended by people who restore cars...it looks like foot. I'm very dissappointed. I could have done just as well with a rattle can. And this was after I returned it because the first time, the clear coat peeled off after a month.

I won't pay $5,000 for a mediocre paint job. I would do it myself and get the same or better results for about $2500....and wind up with a kick-*** shop air system and a set of HVLP guns that will last forever.

HA... I wouldn't pay for a $10,000 paint job in my life, that is more than I paid for the car. If people think they can get tons of customers at that price, I might just go start working for them. Paint products cost 1,200 bucks, that would be about a $9,000 profit!

I think the price is going to fluxuate a lot based on demographics. I would have a hard time trusting anyone painting my entire car unless I knew them and their work well.

I was qouted 3k base to do a color change and thats removing body panels. I was amazed at how cheap it was so kinda worried about that. Def check out some of the painters work before you commit.

It really depends on who you know, who you ask..etc.

I can get a full respray for about 3,500. That includes everything..jams, engine bay..etc..etc.. Some guys actually charge more if you prep it yourself, just becuase they will end up having to do it again and fixing possible mistakes.

For a full color change in this area, I would probably have to pay somewhere in the 5k range.

OR

I can use my friends paint guns, big *** compressor, and re-assemble the paint booth we made, and do it for cost of materials.

Well, I'm going for black, and apparently my dad knows a guy who painted his dualie for free years ago and the paint lasted a long time, like it even looked great after sitting for 3 years.

Thanks for the price ranges guys, really appreciate it.

$4k for a color change is CHEAP, I'd say closer to 8-10k. Its not worth it unless you are getting a cool color done.
