Default Instrument Cluster Lighting

Im looking for a way to fix a small lighting problem I have. I currently Have a 200mph speedo and when I installed it the gauge lighting at night was Green!Even with ne 194 bulbs the color remained green. I decided to purchase and install some "Hyperwhite" 194 bulbs from Ledgauges.com and now the lighting is blue! Is there anyway or any bulb that I can purchase that is Actually a White bulb or LED that will return my Aftermarket cluster back the factory coloring at night?

BEFORE

AFTER

The pics are not the greatest quality and it might be hard to tell but I thought they would help. I did a search and I cannot find anyone looking for a "White" Bulb everyone is either looking for a blue or red lol. Thanks

I have there "Hyper white" ones those are in the second picture. Im looking for a Bulb/led that will give a actual white light and nothing with a color to it. The first picture is of one with stock bulbs.

haha i dont think people are reading.....

i wonder if theres a colored film on the cluster now, considering even the stock bulbs came out blue/green. If those are from GMS then Id ask him about it. im getting some of those soon too, and i plan to ask him about it before i order.

I agree

But there might be a chance there is but someone recommended some bulbs to me awhile back and I cannot find the post or the person they said they used it on there cluster and it was a huge difference.

I asked GMS about it all I got from them was "it retains factory color lighting" Even before I ordered because I actually wanted the white face gauge but didn't want to risk the coloring being off so I went the safe route and got the OEM look... well at night it's not a OEM look and after all the emails and calls back to the rep I got "Change the bulbs sometimes old bulbs give off a yellowish tint" so after that dead end all im looking to do is see if anyone knows of a LED or bulb that is Hyper white without the blueish tint!

My take:
The old bulbs being yellowish is absolutely true.
I also think you are right and the overlay has a tint to it.
That tint is likely blue-ish. As the blue fades, it becomes true white. This is intended for longevity, I believe. That makes it consistent with your hyper white bulbs resulting in a bluish tint. It also is consistent with the OEM bulbs making the result greenish.

I think you may be stuck, unless you can fnd a "half *** hyper white" LED set or a "mostly white" LED bulb set.

Seruiously, I love the way that your hyper whites made it look. But I am biased:

Good luck!

I'm gonna go on a limb here and say it's the cluster. Was there a blue film on the backing of the GMS gauges? if it was completely clear then white #194 LEDs should be white. Not blue.

And no I do not own ledgauges

never saw the overlay they calibrated and installed it at there shop. So I can only assume it has it BUT as I've read the factory camaro gauges have a blue tint to them as well so I don't know.

jmilz28 - Your Saying this blue will wear off over time did I read that correctly?
