I still like my $15 ebay one, although the FM/AM reception is pretty bad.

i dont get why you would put a shorty on when u could just get a retractable

I used vice grips to twist the ball off.. The anntenna was still on the car, that way it was sturdy when i twisted the ball

id rather just put a TA electric antenna. i dont like the short ones

Most do just fine in the city or where there's no obstructions. the problem occurs when you out in the boonies.

One thats cut to teh wrong dimention or one like the Onstar which is built for diffrent frequencies other than radio are not gonna look good.

If your gonna use a cut one then you should measure the antenna and cut it so that the finished lenmgth is a multiple of the total length..

ie if the antenna is 27" long which I think the stocker is then it should be cut no shorter than 9"

Or...... find one with a loaded base made of indestructable rubber and is hand crafted....Hmmmmmm
