Default Engine cleaning

Finally cleaning the engine... just curious.. I plan on spraying it down with my cleaner... using a light brush to get anything baked on off... then under the hood... then gonna use running water *no spray nozzle* to get it off... any suggestions to not trip any sensors?

Just use common sense dont use any more water than you have to, and use whatever soap your using sparingly. Instead of a toothbrush I use a small stiff paintbrush. And as for soap i use a 50/50 mix of water and simple green. When your done cleaning use rags to soak up standing water left in the engine bay. I use my leaf blower to blow the water out of my engine bay. I look like a "speacial" kid using a leaf blower on my car but im tellin you it beats tryin to soak up water with rags in those small spots. After that I use amorall or back to black on the hoses and such. All in all its not hard it just takes time.
