I don't know of a motorized one like that. I made one that uses ball bearing sliders and actually retracts completely under the car (doesn't have the plastic sticking out). I have ONE left if you want it PM me...
Damn 4real? I thought as long as the plate was still visable, you could only get a warning. Atleast that's all my friend ever got, when he didnt have his plate mounted on his truck. Ive been warned once, and stopped a 2nd time but he said nothing bout the plate. He even looked at it on the dash to get the number's.

I would do that, but it would only damage my plate and more then likely. It would fall off after awhile. There's some place's around here, where the air dam hit's. Kinda why i want the plate to fold up like in the link i 1st posted, just figured be awhole lot easier motorized. So u can flip it w/ a switch incase you spot a trooper ahead.

I saw this on YouTube. I like it, but it would be awhole lot better if it was motorized to do the same exact thing.

Are there any motorized rectractable plate's that do this exact thing?? You know, come out and flip right up.
I like it

Yup, the ones on the airdam are illegal as well... Most states require it is mounted on the front of the car AND is six inches off the ground.

i'm down to drop $200 on parts for a motorized one if anyone has any plans that could work. i'm thinking about getting the show n go manual hideaway and hooking a linear actuator to it. i need it to be able to display the plate as well as hiding it on a switch.

hope this hasn't been posted. here's a vid on a vette. he used a stylinconcepts kit that runs $300-400 and had to rig it. so even paying that much isn't plug and play.

Just found the write up of that one here:

That is exactly what I wanted mine to look like but I'm not too sure about $300 for the Stylin Concepts kit.

I live in Missouri. I have talked to the local cops the sheriffs and the highway patrol they said it's a good idea and at least they can see it from a ways back and it is in the front not on the dash. I have proof that I have two so they know I'm not stealing plates. So far they all like it.

hahahaha. that's what you get for that ewww comment you made about my plate in the other thread.

i've had my car in the same neighborhood for over 2 years and a few months ago a cop busts a u to follow me at 10 in the morning when i'm trying to go to work. i ended up with a fix it ticket even though my plate was on the windshield. $10 court fee and a visit to chp. no big deal. i don't get tickets. in my hood, female cops like yelling at me to slow down and pulling me over in hopes i'll dick em down on top of the ss hood. so i took the plate out of the car all together for the past few months.
last week i was in san francisco and my car was parked overnight on the street. 2 in the ****** morning a cop wrote me a no plate ticket. $100 ****** dollars out there!!! now i have my plate on my billet grill.

Seriously... How is that even remotly legal? The plate is hidden and about 2 inches from the ground. I'll never leave florida just for the front plate reason!

Why didn't the guy in the write-up just use a spring hinge (that's what I did on mine) instead of that goofy contraption?

Hey 6liter, do you have any close up pics of your setup. I bit the bullet last night and ripped the front grille off so I just have mine in the windshield for now but it is a little hard to see from the front.
