Default Headlight Lens Idea

I had an idea today...

What if.... Someone bought a pair of the "ebay" halo headlights, baked them in the oven (whistler mod style) to separate them from the housing, and used the lenses on their stock headlights...? At $100 a set, it would be a lot better than buying a new OEM pair.

I just wonder if the lenses would fit...

Thoughts?

the ebay halo lenses are a perfect fit if not better quality than factory (less likely chance to haze over)

^^ oh no I wasn't saying that they wouldn't fit, I was telling the guy that mentioned polishing the stockers that they will never be perfect after you sand them....

Are the ebay lense really better than stock? I know a guy that goes to my school who has halos, and I think he said hes only had them for a year and they are hazing pretty bad already....

I wish I could find some quality lenses that come with better plastic....my mom's Lexus (2003, sees rain and shine) and my step dad's Toyota SUV (both cars with over 80,000 miles, and SUV is not garaged) and their lenses are in PEFECT shape...wtf?

Ah didn't realize that Stephen.

IMO, the halo lenses are equal if not better than stock. In all headlights that I deal with, I always drill 2 small holes at the bottom of each headlight to let any moisture evaporate from the inside and the lenses have a much much better life

Well I have never thought about this but I forsee it happening in the near future. My stock ones are really bad, and look even worse since I put the clear front corners on

Yes, they will fit. I had a pair of halo headlights and ended up swapping the housing on one of them because it was broken. I had a stock housing and used the halo headlight lense on that housing.

The halo lenzes SUCK!! the moldings are not good rubber, will crack in 6 months, the glue is half *** glue! yea, the plastic looks good ,but everything else is junk LOL!!thats why i took my halo guts and installed them in a stock set of headlights. Just keep your eyes open on here for a set! Almost everbody sells there OEMs when they buy halos LOL!!I know i did !And regretted it

when yall swapped the halo from the after market one into the stocker what did you use to keep the actual halo plastic piece in place? and did you just drill a hole in the light housing to run the halo light wires out the back?

Hey Brian2006, im still working on that project from the pieces i got from you, i have had NO time so i do a little here and there when i can
