Too dark at night.. 
window tint bullsh**
for the record i bought the car two years ago with the tint already on it and i never thought it was ever that dark, you barely see a difference between the windshield and the window. i even had a cop look at it one time and say it was ok. i shoulda just told him my window motor was smoked and it wouldn't roll up.
here's the thing that makes me wonder though, this was at night on a street with NO street lights at all, i'm sure the meter could be thrown off a few points by it being soo dark and would probably be legal during the day.
also he never assessed a fine on the ticket it just says appear in court...wtf, if it was like $20-30 i wouldn't care i'd try once to get it dismissed and then pay the sucker.

i got pulled over twice in the span of a week for my windows being tinted too dark. i had them tinted for years without an issue. i decided to take the tint off and i took a polaroid of my car and brought that into court. they then waived the ticket. in hindsight, i should have just found someone with the same make, model and color of my car without tinted windows and just have taken a photo of their car.
The Pigs here is the fine state of AZ seem to be cool about the tint(maybe it is the damn sun).
My car's tint is blacker than black, you can't even see through the back window when it starts getting dark.
I even see people here with full tinted windshields, but that is a bit much for me.

every time I get pulled over I roll the windows down, Its worked thus far, I dont care if its freakin snowing outside I still roll em down. and I have 5% limo on 2 of my vehicles. Not going to say it will work every time but It does make it not look quite as obvious lol well unless its snowing outside lol but anyways.
I have full mirrors all around and just ride with them half way down, most of the way down or all the way down. When I get pulled over I definitely roll them down before they notice. And if it's raining they don't notice so I ride with them up!

i figure compared to the back glass the windows are pretty light
i'm gonna take the first picture in and show it to em and say the car won't make it in for inspection for mechanical reasons (it's outta gas). if it doesn't work oh well i'll take the stuff off, i gotta save my cash for the dang speeding ticket i just got.

Coming from a family that has had many years in law enforcement, I can honestly say cops hate tint. I have been pulled over for it many many times and my car is 35% all around, which you can see into just fine. My suggestion if you get pulled over, roll down all the windows whether it be 2 or 4, turn on your interior lights and put both hands on the steering wheel. You might actually catch a break.
If I was a cop, I'd be pretty damn nervous stopping a car with dark tint. As a matter of fact I would probably just let 'em keep going about their business. Screw it.

BTW, your car looks badass with everything BLACK!! I wouldn't change a thing... I had black ZR1s and tinted taillight covers on my black Z28 a couple of years ago and got stopped quite often, almost monthly. Personally I can see why they stop you.. the car looks suspicious.
The car reminds me of a story I heard awhile back. I don't know if it is true but.. apparently this guy was running drugs up I-75 from Miami to Michigan. He was driving a late 90's Corvette, flat black paint, tinted windows, flat black rims.. everything black. The dude would run the car without any lights and had military issued night vision goggles so he could see. The story is that he got away with it for a few weeks before he was eventually cought.

I heard there was like a 9% variance on them meters. I figured you would have been alright at 28 if legal limit is 35. Maybe thats just here, but I doubt them meters are perfect, you could probably take it back to be checked in the day time and you might pass.
