Question Okay to use Dawn?

I'm dropping the car off at the body shop this weekend, having it wet sanded and buffed out. Before they do though, they are putting on a good coat of clear, just to be sure there are no issues during sanding.

I figured it would be best to give them the car with clean paint, so would it be okay to wash it down with Dawn to take off all the polish/wax thats on there now since they will be adding the clear on Saturday anyway?

Won't hurt, but if they are shooting clear they will wipe it down with pre clean and scuff it.

yea the shop will clean it down for you just wash it like you always do. But to answer you question no dawn wont hurt anything, unless you get it in your eyes.

Yea, the dawn would help remove some polish/wax from the car.

If it will save you money by cleaning it ahead of time, then go ahead, otherwise no. Before painting, paint shops use (or should use) solvents that far surpass Dawn's cleaning abilities to remove any contaminants before spraying the clear.
