Default I need some help with dry buff marks.

Search is not working and I noticed today in the direct sunlight I have some dry buff marks from the last time I machine buffed the car. Of course it is black. Can you help me fix what I am doing wrong or let me know your methods? The pads are brand new 3m waffle pads. Thanks guys.

sounds like your moving to slowly with the bad and burning the compound. i have an entire writeup on how i buff a car but i mean everyones different. my suggestions are to use a little more compound and move the buffer a little quick or just lower your speed if you want to move at the same pace. when those waffle pads are brand new they heat up really quick

Try a really soft pad -- like a Lake Country white or equivalent and some fine polish like Menzerna MicroPolish, Poorboys SSR1, Vanilla Moose Red Machine glaze, etc. and this should take out the rest of the marks. You can get any of these at the major detailing sites like Poorboys, Autotopia, etc.

I have the 3M waffle pads and was never a big fan of those.

How about posting a few pics of what you're talking about.

Thanks guys. I was trying the 3 step Meguiars setup. Light cut, speed glaze, and the carnuba wax and not impressed. My buffer speed was around 1800-2000 but since this I went down to 1400 and soaked the pad to try to eliminate the problems.
