off topic...
Who did you use to ship that? I've been waiting 2 weeks for the shipping company I used (AA-Auto Transport) to pick up my Z. So i'm looking to maybe go with someone else.

I missed the shipment! DAMN! I wanted to hijack that
truck! I was looking for the unpainted one, damn damn damn!
Nice car man, have fun with it. Hell, it's already blinging,
so I'm scared to think what it will look like in a few weeks!

DAYUM Steve, that car is amazing looking! Im sure she'll get just as much attention (if not more so being a classic) then the SS did.
Hope all the probs work out, and as ya know, keep us informed on the build!

Beautiful car Steve. Congrats. I'm also glad to hear that it comes equipped with problems. Who wants a perfect car? That would leave no room for mods! Your wife must be the most understanding woman in the world.

I hope you have good luck with the 700R4. My bro-in-law had a built one in his 68 RS Camaro. Guy said it would hold anything. Car has a 454 with a 100 shot. First time he sprayed there went 2nd gear. He is back to a TH400 now. He liked having the overdrive but it wouldn't hold. He is thinking about the gear vendors piece now to go with the TH400. Good luck! Let us know if it holds.

If the car is holding up with a 350 the 700r4 should be fine. As far as strength is concerned the 350 and 700 are almost identical.
Granted... I don't feel a stock 700r4 would hold up for long.

Steve,
Who's doing the install on your tranny?
I checked out that site, and found the level II might me good for me, and affordable right off the bat. Figure, I can do that, and gears with a posi unit all at the same time, if the install price is right.
Let me know.
Might be selling my TH 350 soon too!

Right on, thanks Steven. I might just do mine right off the bat then. I'll have to call Don Lee's. It's either the tranny and gears, or new rims and brakes. What a hard decision...

Re: Look what arrived on a big truck yesterday :)
Do you have front disc brakes?.. I would do the hardest stuff first.. a trans will make the car more enjoyable on longer trips.. if you have front disc and rear drum then I would add rear disc (about $500)..
New rims are tempting though.. if you hate the welds you can sell them and put some nice rally wheels on for now, would look better and they are less expensive. A set of billet wheels (boyds, etc) will run you around $1000 or so plus tires..
I actually got ahold of the Wilwood guy today.. He says my brakes are shipping out tomorrow!!! I will belive it when they get here but its encouraging.. 6 piston front and 4 piston back -- and best of all.. FREE!!!!!!!
