Wax wash

Dish soap will take off the wax, so you can apply the new wax.
When you hear never use dish soap it's usually stated not to use it when your car is waxed because it will take your wax off and you will have to reapply it.

Of course it's good to have wax on the car. Dish soap strips wax off the paint, leaving your car, well, waxless. If you want a nice new coat of wax, using dish soap will get the old wax off and ready to put new wax on.

While washing with dawn once in a blue moon will probably not cause any damage, most of the time it is not a needed step. (unless specifically called for by a product manufacturer)
It is not something I recommend. washing with a good, quality car shampoo will properly prepare the care for the detailing process.
If you were to use it as a part of your normal maintainence, then it could definately cause some issues, from proble s with the plasitc and rubber pieces all the way to clear coat failure.
Do it once to start with if you feel the need. but any more than that is usuless, imo.
