Default Door Strike Pin Question...

I have a extra door striker pin assembly to have chromed...I just want to be sure that there is a nut inside the door jam that it screws into and that it will stay in place and wont fall down and get lost when I take the pin out (or the screws out of the little piece under it). I know thats the way it works in a 3rd gen (and thats how you adjust your door opening and closing properly.) Has anyone ever removed these pieces and know for sure?

hi just mark the location it's in so when you put in the new one you won't have to lign it up again tip a little wax and let it dry, exact location billyb.
