I bought these tips for my 97 ws6...http://fredusaparts.nl/details.asp?s...erdelen&nr=112 ...which I just now found out are double wall tips. What does "double wall" do anyways?

double wall is exactly what it sounds like...it has two walls of material, which make it appear thicker, rather than just a slash cut tip...resonated tips have perforations or holes in them, which allegedly change the sound, but not much.
take a look at a stock GM truck exhaust tip (that's regular)
the tips you have are double wall (the edges appear thicker)
search for C6 Corvette tips (those are resonated and double wall, if I remember correctly)
its pretty much all in appearance....double wall or resonated give that premium or performance look, which most of us like!
