Lightbulb Opaque Rims

ONE SIDE OF MY CAR, THE GLOSSY BLACK HAS FALLEN OFF AND NOW IT LOOKS AND STAYS AS AN OPAQUE BLACK...THE PASSENGER LOOKS GLOSSY AND DOESNT TAKE OFF...HOW WERID

WANT TO MAKE THEM EVEN ALL 4 RIMS WITH OPAQUE...HOW DO I TAKE OFF THE GLOSSY PAINT COATING??

ok let me type it easier...i have some hyper black rims on my ride...the gloss on the black seemed to fall off and now it looks like a satin black...only two rims got that bad effect...so in order for all wheels to look even and same color, i want to make them satin by takin off the gloss coating...how or with what can i take the coat off and make it a satin black???????

I'm no paint expert but I'm really not sure how you'd only take off the clear coat other than sanding... Maybe someone else knows something I don't.

I would try to clear the faded ones first if your concern is matching the gloss of the wheels.

i heard of using nail polish remover, sounds gay...i tried it but it really didnt help me scrape off the glossyness...let me see if i can get pics!

i dont want it glossy black, i kinda like the satin look on the rims

Just a word of caution, I probably wouldn't be trying random **** like nail polish remover to get the clear off. You stand a pretty good chance of ******* up the paint on the wheels all together. Paint is funny like that, you go a little too far and you'll be re-painting all your wheels in that satin color that you like so much...

Maybe stop by a reputable paint shop in your area and ask them if they have any ideas.

Find out if the passenger side has any start to the clear coat coming off. I'm thinking that you're going to need to take some 1000+ grit sandpaper to gently encourage the clear to come off. Got pics?
