Removing an old baked on pinstripe

Removing an old baked on pinstripe I just picked up a 1991 Z28 to tinker around with. There is an old circa 1990 pinstripe on the car. The paint isn't in good shape, but i would like to remove it with as little damage to the paint as possible. Any recommendations?
a heat gun and by hand would probablly be your best bet. just heat it up a little and keep it moving and scratch a little off with you nail and hopefulley you'll get a good piece and more will come off. the problem you will have is the paint will be nicer where the stripes where. what i do normally is use this pinstripe removal wheel by wurths and it takes the stuff right off. if the paints in rough shape it might take the paint off.
its an auto body specific tool, so look in terms of that. i use them all the time, but it will tak the paint off if your not careful. it's also threaded at the end, and usually have to buy the air tool with it.
I have had the best luck with GOO GONE and shop towels. It requires a lot of hard rubbing and you have to keep applying goo gone frequently, but stickers will come off without any type of scratching of the paint.
K is this painted on or a sticker? If it's a sticker, best option is a heat gun and whatever you feel comfortable using on the paint to scrape it off. If it's paint, find someone with a DA polisher and use some M83 - it'll come off in a HURRY and no, it won't hurt the paint under it.

It is a sticker. And it was a bitch to pick off. My nails hurt just typing this. Still need some goo gone or something to remove the adhesive that didn't totally come up. Any recommendations on that? Goo Gone was a PITA when debadging a GTP.
