Thumbs up VFN 4" pin-on hood cowl

The fit on this hood was damn good right out of the box! This was a rough fit, I got it to line up damn near perfect, but I need a few more dzus fasteners.

I'll get better pics this weekend. Btw, a pin-on hood is a lot of work!

^^ you use hood pins to hold it down on all 4 corners instead of a latch and the hinges up by the windshield.... you pull the pins and remove the whole hood from the car instead of "poping the hood"

hood looks good from what i can see the pic is a little blurry.

I took that pic 1st right at sunset, and it came out blurry. The other pics came out clear, but it got dark and you can't see anything. I still need to paint the brackets that I mounted to the fenders black, so you cant see them with the hood on, or I may just remake the side brackets. The stock hood with everything I could take off weighed 62lbs and the VFN weighed 17lbs minus the brackets. I didn't get to weigh the brackets, but I estimate less than 5 lbs. I will get the car weighed friday to see how much weight I have lost.

I still need to either paint the brackets or move them in a little and do a little more tweaking(I still need to trim the driver's side corner also). And I am still waiting on 4 more fasteners.

Looks nice! Did those brackets/supports come with the hood? Man, when we got the hood for the shop car, we ordered the funny car style hood and that had a lot more material around it and goes all the way up to the windshield ... needless to say it was a pain in the *** to cut everything to fit and line up. Luckily we had a body shop guy who was a customer, who came in and helped.

Nice. Thats the hood I may get for my car. That or the extended "sunoco" style hood.

I made all the brackets myself, but I think I might make new one's. There's just something that's not doing it for me. The hood fits awesome, I just need to bring the brackets in the back by the wiper cowl up a little, that way my gaps will line up perfect. The only thing you can tell is missing from the car, is the radio(I'm going to put gauges there), factory steering wheel and back seats. I still have the a/c, and I plan on keeping that, even when I go with the carb. I drive this everyday to work, 33 miles round trip. It's ******' HOT here in Texas! Oh yeah, Thanks for the compliment's!
