Rear speakerless hatch panels.

I remember hearing that some Fbodies had hatch panels that didn't have speaker grilles in them. I can't find any pictures, so does anybody have any handy?

Yep, my Firebird doesn't have the speakers in the hatch panels.

Damn, nevermind. I was hoping that version didn't dipdown and just kept the flow to the back. Oh well. Thanks for the pictures

Actually it would look weird the way you are describing it. The dip/curve down matches the "trunk" panel that goes across. So unless you didn't have that, then yeah having it not dip/curve would look ok. Looks like if you want to make it not have a dip/curve you will have to make a custom set with fiberglass on them or something.

That comes from not ordering an upgraded stereo. When I ordered mine I figured it would come standard with the "Theftlock" style tape deck. Imagine my surprise when I saw the ghetto Geo Metro tapedeck I got. Couldnt even hear it when the T's were out. Worst part was it didnt even work, brand new.

That's kind of neat though, I mean most of us that go for aftermarket setups don't even bother with the rear stage 4 inch speakers.

Yep, I think it still sounds ok (but then again I have no comparison...lol). Doesn't really bother me as i'm not a stereo guy so less weight I guess haha.
