Same here I can dust it off and go drove around the block and its covered again. Nothing you can really do. Espicially when your always on a drag radial it makes it 10times worse

mine's the same... my guess would be that its an area of low pressure so its swirling the air there, and getting dust trapped (same principle that a cowl hood works on)

Maybe the towels you're detailing with leave a static charge that helps draw the dust to it?

I have read somewhere that it has to do with the airflow over the back of the bumper which somehow causes it to collect dust

With my black car I have pretty much accepted that it will never be clean unless it doesn't move after being washed... and even then within an hour or two you will find dust collecting on it.

I also think it has something to do with carbon filth from the exhaust...

I've noticed that when i wash my trans am water will get in all the tiny grooves by the taillights and even in the rear side marker. You cant get a towel in there to dry it out, so the water just sits back there and as soon as you drive it (even if you wait 10 hours) water rockets out of there with all kinds of dirt and stuff and itll basically trash the rear end.

I clayed mine which made it look much better, and easier to clean the **** off the back, but nothing is going to stop the accumulation of dust there.

claying the whole car is definitely worth the effort, do a section at a time, and polish + wax after wards...then when you're all finished with everything, step back and drool

Your best bet is to get a good coat of wax or sealant on the bumper and keep it dusted. Our bumpers are a huge dust catch and there's nothing we can do about it unfortunately. Just get that layer on and cleaning it will be easier (albeit temporary)!

It bothers me so bad that I keep a microfiber in the console and wipe it off every time I get out.

That's nothing - I normally keep 5 MFs, clay, QD, interior detailer, and IPA in the car. The funny thing is that my paint has too many uncorrectable defects as it is but I still treat it like it's pristine.
