Default !Side Molding, before and after

I took off my side molding yesterday. Looks much cleaner without it.

The glue was a super bitch to get off the drivers side. Took about an hour, but the passenger side took 15 min. Don't why it was so stuck on the drivers side.

Before

After

I wouldn't be too afraid, I found out my car had been rapainted so there's two diferent levels of paint goin in some places, but it's not that noticeable and I have to get the key scratch fixed anyway. Plus you car is black, I would think the blacks would be really close if different at all.

Mine is black as well and I am also afraid the paint under will not so much be a different color but a different shade of black due to it not being exposed

You have to exercise some care taking em off, pull and peel doesn't cut it. I use fishing line and cut thru the glue, then deal with the glue left on the car by heating with a hair drier and rolling it off with my fingers. Goo Gone and a terry washcloth takes car of what's left.

These cars look SO much better with the moldings off. When I got my V-6 Bird, I took the moldings off the next day. When I got my WS6, they come off in the first week! Great looking car made better with a simple free mod!

Agree with post above but would also suggest doing it on a hot day to help soften the glue before using the fishing line. Removed mine shortly after I bought it new and think it helped its looks.

Personally, I like it better with the molding. Plus there's the added benefit of better protection for your paint. Either way, to each his own, it's just a matter of opinion.
