IMO the whole point of the Sunoco hood was to create a cowl hood without the hard edges which would make it look like every other "boxy" looking cowl hood. With those stripes on the sides it kinda gives it that "boxy" look again which to me defeats the purpose of the hood.

i like the black strips on the hood. strips on cowl hoods makes the cowl stand out more and i think it just makes them look taller. but thats just my opionion and why i painted strips on mine. but it looks cool how it is now so you can't go wrong whatever you do.

So you're saying these stripes don't look good?

I think with the Chrome Wheels the stripes don't work as well. Like you said, you have vinyls so if you don't like it, it is an easy fix. I'm glad you got rid of the black mirrors, they only belong on black cars =]

That's what I was thinking, I like it a lot better without the stripes.

I say do it! I was uneasy about the possible look of my blackbird stripes at first, but now I can't imagine my car without them! Plus it sets your car apart from any other "imitators or clones!!"

Hopefully the stripes came in today. I had some stainless pieces come in yesterday that I ordered the same day as the stripes
