Here is the message:

Thank you for your patronage. As of 5pm EST Today, The SLP Messageboard is no longer active. F-Body OEM Replacment Parts will soon be available from SLP Performance Parts in Toms River, NJ. Until that time, you may continue to order parts from our Troy, MI facility. Stay tuned to www.slpeng.com for info on when those parts will be available through SLP Performance Parts. Once again, thank you for your patronage. Going foward, I may be contacted at: dave@davehamburger.com -David Hamburger & the Staff at SLP
------

No surprise to me.. with no fbody and 95% of the people there being fbody people they were no longer a revenue source.. Sorta surprised that there was zero announcement but that generally how SLP management worked.

So welcome any SLP castaways to our apperance section.. where the mods are actually friendly and not complete dicks..

I just emailed Dave about possibly including a message for his members to redirect to our site as their new home. If response is favorable, I'll even create a Firehawk and SS forum for them.

Welcome SLP members!

Tony

Only thing that sux is there were some good get togethers and friendships generated from that board. Wish I would have had a chance to get some email addresses, and contact numbers of some people. Hopefully, those cool people will end up here.

Hey Steve, I haven't been on the slp board for a long time. I won't say anything bad about them, I just won't say anything at all. I've been hanging around this board a few months and like the content. I was sad to hear about your selling the 2000 camaro but look forward to seeing the 69 finished. BROOMER.

The people made the board and for the most part, I enjoyed reading and posting on it for more than 2 years....it was my first source for information when I got the Beast in Oct of 2000 and I learned alot and created friendships with alot of members including Steve and Andy to name a few.....for that reason, I will miss it.....on the other hand, it was only a shell of it's former self and the MODS made it worthless for pretty much anything except for the "lounge lizards", I don't know what some of those guys are gonna do now with all thier free time....

I quit reading that forum when the Mods starting deleting and moving pretty much all of the threads in the Camaro SS forum. There used to be some pretty good info. I went to the last two SLP CADs in Ennis, TX and they were both a blast.

Now with that said, LS-1 tech is by far the best LS-1 site on the net!!!

Sad to see it go, but I thik it should have been handled better than to just abruptly shut it down.

Oh well, one less message board for me to poke at while at work.

I hear ya'. I used to be addicted to the SLP Board, but many of the posters there became just plain annoying with their 500 "look at me" posts day in and day out.
