Default Bondo/welding Shock tower

I searched and I really couldn't find a hole lot of info, I am wanting to make the shock towers look completely slick. my second thought is just to do what the stock eliminator guys do and weld the shock towers which looks really good as well.

Looking for any pics of modified shock towers.

mmhm, that be interesting but if you ever need to do work to the front suspension, your kinda screwed. The only thing i have ever seen as the new CHallangers having a black, plastic cap into of the tower.

More or less its a custom job and it will need some sheet metal work, hammer and welding.

doing a google search all I found was toy cars and covers.

Air ride technologies had a smooth billet plate in place but still some nuts and bolts were exposed.

Upon further pondering, if you can custom fab studs coming down into the inner fender and rig it where its bolted from the bottem, at that point its just the fab work up top to smooth.

I am only talking about the seams around the hood strut and such, and a lot of the holes in the shock tower and etc. Basically I am just shooting for a cleaner look.
Just making sure where on the same page?

Yea, thats a little bit clearer.

Like with fox body stangs people fill the hole with welding tacks and thin coat of bondo, sand and weld.

For the seam, that is on the tower. one can still custom make a cap but leave the studs exposed. So it would like one smooth transition.

at least that how I picture your question.

Looks ruff right now but I welded the holes closed and grinded them down, applied filler and block sanded to get rid of the wavy metal. If I applied filler to the shock tower I image it would crack under stress from pot holes and bumps. I will do a primer coat tomorrow and block sand that and I should be ready to paint it.

Guys thats what I am talking about. My buddy is going to let me barrow is wire welder and I believe I am going to weld the seams up and the holes. It might look really good with the welded look.

I am not a body man, but what EXACTLY do I need if I was going to go for the clean slick look???

You need to weld the edges of any metal that overlaps. It doesn't need to be a solid bead of weld, it can be spot welds at 10MM intervals. Then gring the welds down and do your body work. If you don't know how to work with body filler and primer, get someone to help who does.. it'll go ten times quicker.
