question about z28 fender emblems

im going to buy 2 of the '69 z28 fender emblems tomorrow, to replace the stock ones on my fenders, but the '69 emblems are somewhat curved.

question is, what should i do about this? cuz i have a feeling its not going to sit flat against the fenders on my '99. What have others done about this?

cover them with a towel all around the emblem take a rubber mallet and start hitting it till they flatten out, dont kill them or anything just some light/regular tapping should do.

i think you have to grind off about 3 tabs off the back of them too if thier the old ones?

thanks man , i really havent paid too much attention to how flat the fender is where the z28 emblems arent right now, but if they are really flat, than i will flatten those emblems i buy to match. OH and i have a '99 NBM z28 too. i want those ****** chrom zr1's you have

i too am getting some of the 69 style emblems, have wanted them for a while just never got around to doing it.

the curve isnt an issue...just use 3M super adhesive double sided tape and till be fine.

once you get them just put them up against the fender and see how much if at all they need to be flattened.

or put em in a press with a rag n cover em took a whole two seconds... tried the hammer method or step on method didnt work really... i got the two on the sides 3m taped on and i just drilled the back one
