Default DIY side window tint advice

I ordered some 3m precut window tint film for my trans am.

Any tips to not screwing this job up? I want to do a good job. Ive watched people do it before, my hatch is already done.

Any tips are appeciated.

The clear piece of window film from the factory is a bit gouged up on one side on my car and I plan to remove this. Should I remove it on both sides or just leave it on the pass side?

My bad sorry dude, I went out to double check and I cant seem to find any film on the trans am. Guess the glass is scratched, IT isn't too bad.

Anything I should know to not get any bubbles or pubes under there (haha, remember seein a crap job done once with tons of dust underneath it looked like pubes.

razor blade the whole inside of the window with glass cleaner/blade....water/baby shampoo is the easiest available thing to use. squeegy the **** out of it. take something to tuck the rubber window gromet down into the door panel. i use a teflon stick, i can't think of anything you might have around the house that would work??....

when you peel the liner off the pre cut tint you have, soak the film like crazy. (it's best to do this portion in your garage with the door closed so there isn't a breeze that will blow dust and stuff in.

lay the tint and squeegy it out...that's about the best i can describe without doing it myself or at my work....

Also make sure your gasket (the rubber piece at the bottom of the window) isn't full of dirt. You don't want the dirt getting under the tint. Grab a paper towel and clean it with whatever spray your going to use as the tint film. Like suggested, baby shampoo and water.
DON'T clean with lysol or anything like that.

Well i did a perfect job on the drivers side. I screwed up the pass side and tinted it with my extra tint only to realize that my extra tint was a different shade.

So my drivers side is 25% and the pass side is 50%. At least i get to see what i like better. I have to redo one of them. Im tempted to just get some tint film from murrays or something, will that work out?
