I just did my whistler mod over the weekend. All I can do is tell you what I did and it worked out great. I put both lights in for 20 minutes at 200*F. I took them out and held one light with an oven mitt and slowly pried the lens with a very small flathead screwdriver. It seemed easier to start from the ends and work my way towards the center. And once I got one side completely free, I just grabbed it and pulled it off gently. However by the time I got the first one opened up, I had to put the second one back in the oven because it had cooled.

The best advise I think is to be patient and pry very slowly a little bit at a time with a screwdriver. You will see it start to lift a little bit. Once it does at that point, move down about 1" and pry there. Eventually you will make your way around the whole lens.

Also, I would try not to be too patient as mentioned above. The silicone hardens quicker than you think and as the that happens the headlight starts to chip. The best route is to just put it in the oven a little longer, lift one corner, and you can about pull the lens off by hand from there.

Correct, you don't wanna be too patient, but at the same time you don't wanna push the screwdriver though the plastic so hard that you chip it. Granted, I did mark mine up a bit w/ the screwdriver, but it's in a place that you'll never see once they are reinstalled. A higher temp might work, I went with 200* just because I read that somewhere around here.

Just to make sure... You removed the metal clips that hold the lens together first correct?

I've accidentally left those on one time and it did no harm

I used a butter knife, It gave me a larger area to pry, but was a little more gentle than a screw driver. It would flex before the lense broke. I also did about 30 min. at 225 degrees. I did each light seperatley.

Ummm... Lenses don't come apart if those are still on

You don't have to take them off before you put them in the oven but you better take them off before you try to pry apart
