Default FRC install...HELP

I installed my FRC's today...the passenger one went on ok, but I can't get the driver's side to sit right. I undid the clip on that electrical connection and lowered it slightly, and I removed the clip that held the throttle and cruise cables (unbolted and took off, not just bent back). And it still sits up in the back??? I used the directions from thecheckeredflagstore.com and from sysadminzoneblablabla.com , but I still can't get it to sit right. Anyone have any ideas??? Car still has AIR system BTW
TIA

That is exactly how mine used to fit on my '00 Z28. The passenger side was perfect. The driver's side never did sit right.

Note: Be very careful with the "fuel line" closest to the front of the car. There is an EVAP module connected to it and it breaks very easily. At least mine did.

Sorry, can't help. Good luck though. I'd ask Steve2000SS if I were you.

Thanks, Unit
I'll be sure to be careful around that EVAP line.

It's only a $10 part anyway.

There's a black electrical box that sits on a metal clip. I have no idea what it is or does. I removed the clip and it sat lower, but still not right.

This is Bryan from thecheckeredflagstore.com.

Make sure you have cut out a large enough notch in the rear(no one will ever see it) to fit the AIR system. The key is it should but up next to or even slip under just a bit that AIR valve in the rear under the windshield cowling. Also, you may need to make a small oblong notch on the rear fuel line slot facing the front of the car to allow the FRC to slide as far back as possible.

I will be the first to admit the driver's side is a PITA is get in by with some minor adjustments it will go.

From the looks of your pics you are real close because the cut on the the top side of the cover line up with the humps on the intake pretty well.

Thanks, Bryan

I made a pretty huge cut in the rear of that driver's side cover, but I'll check it again and try that notch idea for the fuel line.

Thanks again guys

i had to unclip the group of wires for the fuel injectors, there where 2 clips holding it on. i just took those off so it could get pressed down a little and it fit fine.

Yes, the clips that hold the injector wires must be completely removed. Then just push the loom down and zip tie it to the fuel rail. From the pic it also looks like it need to go back about another inch or so. Where the fuel lines go through the FRC, press the FRC down while pushing it back. Also, make sure the clips on the bottom of the FRC are not getting hung up on the coil packs. These were my problems. I had to cut the fuel line slots in a little too to make sure there was plenty of clearence. If all goes well, the FRC should be secure and all three clips on the bottom should clip to the coil mounting bracket.

The two pics at the bottom might help a little. Let me know how it goes.
