Default Whistler Mod Help

On one of the steps it says to "Prep & mask the bottom part on the clear lense cover." What part of the lense needs to be painted? The picture shows the bottom part of the lense, but can you even see that part when the headlight is on the car?

Referring to step eight on here:

Damn, I didn't mask the top part. Do I need to go over it with some paint thinner or should I be okay?

Also, if you guys look at step 8 he is actually painting something on the clear lense cover, not the housing.

Thank you. That's what I needed to know.

Does anyone know if painting that small reflector on the top will be a problem?

^^clarify what piece you are talking about just a little more and I will help you out... none of the reflectors should be painted, otherwise your healights won't work....

Did you paint all of the textured part, or just the bottom?

There is a small square shaped reflector kind of above the bulb in the larger part of the headlight.

^^oh, I see what you are saying. Yes i painted the top ridges and that flat section as well. If you use steel wool, then just scratch the crap outta the flat section just like the ridges and the just like you did for the front part of the headlight housing that is not textured.....the paint will stick just fine...

sorry to hijack, but i tried to wetsand one of the lenses, and now it looks worse than before. I used 600, 800, 1000, and 2000 and plastX plastic polish. Should I use something else? The lense always comes out a little hazy and blurry, and gets worse everyday. Should i put them back into the oven to melt the plastic on the lense just a little? Has anyone tried the buffer on the drill to clean them up?

If you look in the appearance section me and someone else both made a thread with the SAME problem on the SAME day.

Did you sand in circular motions? That's what I did wrong. I went back over it with 800 (you don't need anything lower) and then 1200. I then polished it up and they look great.
