Professional shop would probably make one out of tempered glass.
Making one out of plexiglass would be simple (could just thermal form it). Only thing is the same problem they had the one year they did that with third-gen tops, warpage from the sun.

so if I was to take it to my customs shop around here, they could make it removable and paint it black like the ttops? I just want to get that roof panel removable and get it painted black so I can have the luxury of a Targa, and the t-top look, because for some reason, my red roof with my red car bugs the **** out of me everytime I look at it.

carbon with a honey comb core would probably do the job well. With the core the pieces are incredibly stiff. By the time you've made a mold and gotten a finished carbon honey comb core part you'll have spent a good 750 give or take... assuming you don't mess up anywhere in the process.

honestly...if you support the roof panel enough (weld a frame around it from the inside) then it wont flex.

Back on topic... I found another one. PLEASE KEEP COMMENTS ABOUT THE OWNER'S DESIGN CHOICES TO YOURSELF. The dude is in Iraq and I give him props for even having a Camaro.
His Targa Conversion is the best and the worst. It is thorough (even has a place to put in molded into the back) but doesn't look "finished" well...
Anyways, again keep the comments to yourself, I'm posting all these pics just for reference sake:
Found this one also...
Chris (Whistler) was obviously his inspiration as you can tell since he photoshopped to hell Chris' car
Here's his site:

Dude, that car has one aftermarket wheel.
Anyway, the targa on it looks the best for some reason, on all the others, the pillar, I guess you call it (the black part directly behind the t tops) looks like it sets higher on other cars, but on the gold car its nice and even... or level, whatever.
