Plans are 8m or thicker CF... Still looking into tempered glass or some type of magical plastic that won't warp and will be strong enough yet can be thermal formed which I haven't found yet

Why dont you use original t-tops and use a steel/fiberglass mix to join the 2 together. This would allow the factory locks to be used easily and still allow for the user to see through the targa when it is on the car

I'm not sure how well it would stick to glass...

Should have our prototype dropped off Monday for molding to get started... I'll post pics further along as there is a specific design element I don't want to put out into cyberspace until we're ready to roll

^^We are also making something though that allows you to have a Targa'd roof yet still use the factory t-tops...

We plan to offer:

Targa Roof

Targa Headliners

Targa mounting (via a custom rear seat delete)

Targa kit (stuff needed for the average guy to cut his roof off in a driveway and have it 99% within an hour, the pre-bent/cut replacement metal basically)

T-Top add on to Targa Kit (allows you to targa your car, cut the bar out, but still use the factory t-tops)

We'll see what happens... Took months just to get a piece of plastic splitter into production and I'm still working on that (for different models)

Not even a clue yet. Still waiting to here from Tempered Glass people and Carbon Fiber people.

Probably at least $1000 for the whole kit but under $2000....

Probably. That's why you add subframe connectors to the car first and if you're afraid of a roll over you either don't buy a convertible or do this and if you do then you add a roll bar.

Granted the sail panel part of the roof is still there but I don't know if it is designed to not crush without the t-bar.

I assume it is because I don't see a t-bar connected to a windshield giving it much support but throwing in a rollbar to be safe wouldn't be a bad idea.
