(Keep in mind you lose the maplights with this mirror.)
I mounted my sensor behind the front bumper.
Many people mount it lower to the ground, around the foglight areas.
That's probably the best place for it. I plan on moving mine because I feel the heat from the motor throws it off.
I apologize for the crappy pic.
It was taken a year ago and it's the only picture I have that shows where the sensor is mounted.

It has the sensor and some of the pigtail, which is a good thing.
The only thing I'd check for is to make sure it uses the same mirror button as ours. (The metal piece that is glued to window.)
Even if it doesn't you can install one that will work with the mirror.
There is a model that DOES have the maplights along with the compass and temperature readings.
I just don't remember which model it was.

You should have 5 wires coming out of the back of the particular mirror you posted above.
The wires are most likely as follows:
- 12v ignition
- ground
- reverse dim inhibit
- temperature sensor wire #1
- temperature sensor wire #2
You have to find is a 12v ignition wire and tap into that.
The rest is cake. (Grounds, temp. sensor wires, etc.)
If you want to get fancy you can even hook up the reverse dim inhibit wire.
... It disables the auto-dimming feature while you're in reverse.
The hardest part is determining which wires do what coming out of the back of the pigtail.
Then all it is is running some wires and then splicing.

The answer to that is specific to the model mirror (or the pigtail).
