I have done !ac, !egr, !air system, !rear seats and belts, and !front swaybar and I think that was worth 125lbs.

My goal is to have a car that runs 10's on pump gas that I can drive 500 miles one way. I'm pretty close to that now.

Tubular K-frame and arms, manual rack are going to happen.

I would do a different hood if it was lighter than my ASCD hood.

I think I will do what Chris Pippy suggested on the carpeting.

PSJ,
I forgot that you are running a Mufflex.
That exhaust weighs 50 pounds!
Maybe you should look at a lightweight bullet muffler (Dynomax Race magnum or Xr1) or sell the four inch and go with dual cutouts on the Ypipe and a lightweight 3inch exhaust with quiet muffler for the street.

How about a lightweight steering wheel with no airbag. Both Angie@thunder and GTS_SS have soem really nice momo steering wheels, which i think saved somewhere around 12-16 pounds...

If I were you John, I'd just pull the deadening under the carpet, put on a VFN bolt-on hood, and add the k-member and manual rack (i dont think the a-arms are worth the money unless you have cash to spend).

With the carpet I think I am going to cut it straight across from as low behind the backseats as possible. That way at the track I can remove over half of the carpet/insulation easily. (approx 25 pounds savings) then when finished racing I can just fire it back in again. I think the car might look a little odd with all the carpet out in the drivers area and my wife would have a fit LOL!
Also the pin on hood is only 12 pounds!! the bolt in is 18 pounds plus you have to buy special hinges etc. (Stock shocks are too strong) I am ditching the K-Member idea this year and just doing the pin on hood (35+), half the carpet (20+), battery(20), ABS/CRUISE/EGR/Foglights(~20), front bumper support (21), pass and rear seats and belts: 167 total out of the car.
Cheers,
Chris

ps- Has anyone weighed the ABS module and is it difficult to remove?

It's actually 60 lbs. for the 4" Mufflex. My 3.5" Mufflex tipped the scales at a little over 50 lbs. You might have a good exhaust shop build you some type of exhaust connector so that you can unbolt your muffler for the track. That will get rid of most of the weight, and you'll be able to stay quiet on the street compared to a set of bullets.

Supposedly from 12-22lbs once all four are installed. Which means each rotor is about 3-5 lbs lighter than the original.
