i waxed my rear bumper last night hoping to get some of the swirls and minor scratches out of it and to make it look better...and well it didn't seem to do anything. the first thing i did was wash the bumper, then i polished it, then waxed it. the swirls and scratches are still there and don't seem any better. what can i do to get the swirls and scratches out of it?

i used meguar's.. it works great on the rest of the car, but the rear bumper has always had some bad swirls from when i got the car. do you think scratchX would help any, i've used it on other parts of the car and it seems to work great at well.

First wash with Dawn then claybar, polish and finally wax and seal. There are tons of products you could use, again I personally like 3M. The Meguiars swirl remover doesn't work, nothing for swirls. Also, are you trying to remove the swirls and scratches by hand methods?

id recommend investing in a porter cable... some swirls are impossible to get out by hand, needs to be heated up and hands dont move that fast hehe.

Too much product talk here and not enough technique... By hand I don't care what 3M or other brand product you have, it's not going to do much...

i say go with poorboys or my personal favorite menzerna!!! polish with PC, wax with hand... even if its a very light cutting polish i would still use a PC with a white or black pad.
