Tinted T/A tail lamps?

Tinted T/A tail lamps? My buddy has an 02 T/A That has a left tail lamp that is much more "tinted " than the right, the reflector section is the same on both sides. There appears to be no film or spray on the lens. Did any of these cars come with tinted taillamps? Looks like maybe one has been replaced but we don't know how it is more tinted than the other side.
