i had eventually just lost patience and took it to a body shop and had a guy line it up for $20. body work is obviously not for me.

Yeah, mine is like that although maybe a little more balanced on each side. I wasn't able to make the adjustments Roger recommended yet as a precaution I'm going to wait till I have some extra hands to assist me. I don't want to make it worst

Sorry, I didn't respond to your post earlier, but yes I can firmly push it down to level. At night, I looked at the latch and I'm not sure if there is much more I can lower it, but we will see. Thanks.

Okay, now looking at the hood a little more focused. I see the back is about 1/8" higher, the middle is nearly flat and the front is 1/4" higher. The middle front (where the latch is) is absolutely dead on flat. Does the back of the hood starting at the corners follow the fender line or is set a little more back? Hopefully, my nephew is available this weekend.
